What I valued about our relationship during high school was that we never slacked and we always worked together with homework and studying (even when it meant that Gershwin would copy my English and Afrikaans homework and I would copy his Maths). We were both always in the Top Ten and would spend all our time together after school instead of at break or during school hours - our relationship was based on understanding from the start.
Today we are both third year students and are happier than ever - we have grown together in all aspects of our lives. He has seen me at my heaviest and smallest weight, he has seen me at my happiest and at an all time low, I have had to help him get dressed after his Wisdom teeth op and seen how it is true that guys are really sexy when they just wake up, and he has seen that it is not the same with girls - he has seen me when I just wake up, in my track suit pants and mismatched t-shirt and yet he still thinks I'm beautiful. We have been through so much yet we still hardly fight and rather have political, religious and intellectual debates, I'd say. They say opposites attract and that is true about us. His views are so different from mine, yet we still find common ground and in the end we can relate.
"6 Years with the most amazing guy - you are my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my person to be totally crazy with, the only guy who has seen me cry buckets full, seen me laugh till I fart and who still loves me and thinks I'm beautiful when I look like I've been dragged through mud."
